The Iron Boomerang rail project could be one of the largest pieces of regional infrastructure Australia has seen.

It proposes building a rail line linking the abundant coalfields in Queensland with the iron ore deposits in Western Australia and establishing steel mills at either end. It would make Australia one of the leading steel producers in the world and turbocharge the economy.

Given the enormous potential being investigated, and the fact that a Senate Inquiry is currently underway, I can’t believe that this Government doesn’t seem to be interested.

    Hi Malcolm,
Thankyou for doing a great job for Australia!
I have long thought that a railway from Port Hedland to Gladstone is an absolute no brainer, and could deliver more economic benefits than the proposed Inland Rail.
Could it be taken a step further and include a branch line to the Ord River to allow that water rich area access to Eastern markets using the same rail link.
Imagine the boost that would be for northern agriculture, and to our ailing steel industry during construction.
    Cheers,
    John

Great concept to utilise our abundant assets and Value Ad! as well as create work for Aussies and get them out of cities/ burbs and into the bush to live a little!- Build the smelters in Darwin- close to export potential! and halve the distance!

But our socialist govt prefers to Virtue Signal, Posture, support welfare rather than work and cruel our economy- than invest in our Country, economy and hard workers.

The iron boomerang project has been studied buy groups for decades, all showing positive results. They even had several investors that would finance most of the project. Just needed the Gov tick of approval but no political party would bless Australia with this nation building project. One can only imagine the job creation this project would have generated. We no longer have political parties that want the best for our country, but only the best for themselves.
