Warren Pickering for Pauline Hanson's One Nation 25 April 2024 When I finally parted ways with the ADF and embraced politics as a career. I made a promise to myself that I’d never engage in the politicisation of ANZAC day. I’ve held fast to that promise for the past few years. This year, my perspective has changed. Not from any internal rationalisation, but as a result of the blatant efforts of powerful corporate entities and weak local councils that seek to erode our national pride. (Boycott @woolworths for one) When a country has its history erased, it loses its identity. I’ve seen it personally. The confusion this creates within a society is heartbreaking to witness as they seek to attach to some new identity. As they look for something tangible to hang onto in the ashes of their past while simultaneously staring down the barrel of an uncertain future. Some find false idols while others cling to what they knew. The only certainty in the chaos is that collective unity becomes a pipe-dream. Unachievable within the next 5 successive generations. I now see it unfolding here in a way I never thought possible. You don’t need to be proud of your history to acknowledge that it contributed to who you are now. This is true of people and countries. There’s a serious misconception about what the ADF does, and what ANZAC day means. It’s not the glorification of war and endless economic progress. Most of what we do in the ADF is humanitarian in nature. From training foreign forces in strategic defence, so as to defend themselves, to natural disaster responses. I dream of a day that this isn’t so, but the primary function of war fighting is a necessary skill set in the preventative maintenance of a free society. It’s a sad reality, but for now, it’s the truth. ANZAC day has a twofold nature for me. The first honours both those who gave some & those who gave all in the service of this country during WW1. We were an emerging nation still in its infancy at the time. We’re still now only in the youthful stage of our development, and in this context, we’re facing the uncertainty of identity that is inherent during teenage years. The second, is a recognition for those same men and women who provided a service in the defence of this incredible country since. The contemporary veteran from Vietnam onwards is more misunderstood. They represent wars that many deem unworthy of our involvement. We as a nation have a strategic obligation to assist in NATO led conflict resolution. This in turn, offers us the protection in numbers that we cannot provide ourselves in the event of a global conflict. Our borders are too vast and our numbers to small to sustain ourselves in this eventuality. We’ve so far enjoyed social and economic prosperity for decades without facing any real threat. Hopefully this relative peace endures forever. However, if indeed we ever see the day that an enemy stands at our gate. Our forces are trained, prepared, and if necessary, ready to give their lives in the service of this country and its people (even those who vehemently oppose the training of soldiers) I’ve worked and served alongside over 20 other nations in both foreign engagement exercises, and on operations in 8 countries. The response was always the same. Everyone is in awe of the Australian and New Zealand soldier. They always have been. We have a unique way of balancing compassionate advocacy while remaining lethally capable and ready for anything. Pound for pound, we’re amongst the best trained forces on the planet, especially at the lowest ranks. I often heard this from foreign commanders. This is the ANZAC spirit that they used to teach about in primary schools before wokism took hold. It’s still here! It’s in every single one of us, not just the soldiers. It lays dormant in most. It’s waiting for an opportunity to offer a kind gesture to a stranger. It’s there when we get competitive in sports or academic achievements. It’s the flame inside us that inspires others to be better. It’s that call for a light hearted moment when someone’s feeling heavy that softens the mood. It’s tempered with the ability to fight for what you love and defend all innocents against the injustice you see in the world. We ALL have it! The ANZAC spirit is alive and well. Make no mistake. It’s carried most prominently in the hearts of those who generally keep to themselves, quietly going about their business and providing for their families. They are the silent majority. They have a tolerance threshold that is second to none. Especially for bullshit. But make no mistake, it has its limitations. If provoked beyond the threshold of rationality and reason it will engulf them, forcing them to act. This is what inspired me to engage in politics. My own bullshit tolerance is less than that of others. If yours is too, feel free to reach out for guidance on how best you can engage in the political sphere for the benefit of your community. To those wolves in sheep’s clothing that seek to erode individual sovereignty, and diminish the ANZAC spirit within the hearts of Australians in order to inflict the crippling tenets of globalism. You have no idea what you’re playing with! In this fruitless endeavour you will never succeed. The spirit is far too strong. I’ll take this moment to remind you all that it’s US that need to make our governments accountable. To ensure those men and women we send into service receive the treatment they deserve upon return. Suicide within the veteran community is 3 times more prevalent within that of the civilian population. I’ve lost more of my brothers this way than I lost in 10 years of service. As I embrace this special day in quiet contemplation with my daughter by my side. I’m reminded of my own unwavering belief in the prospect of everlasting peace. The peace that we CAN and indeed MUST gift the next generation. The relentless pursuit of justice towards achieving that peace means we have a ways to go. So, today we remember. Tomorrow, roll up your sleeves Australia. We’ve got work to do. “It’s better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war” At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.
They gave THEIR today for YOUR tomorrow.
Lest We Forget.

I wonder if they could have looked forward to see the state of the country today if they would have bothered to pay the ultimate sacrafice.
The sad part is they would be turning in there graves to see what our country has become. They fought for our freedom and now it’s gradually been taken away. My condolences to the soldiers and families
Never forget ..Freedom..Time stand up more ..we loose it ..far out. Bless ya All 🙏
Yes they did, and every Australian on this day, honour them,

We will always remember the fallen
We shall remember them 🇦🇺🫡
We shall remember them 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Yes its so sad how they all go in remembrance of a generation who fought for our freedom but most of them cannot see how they are totally the opposite, they're not fighting for their children and grandchildren rights and freedoms as they are taken off us so obviously now. No one can even speak up about a bloody flu let alone FIGHT FOR US! 🙏♥️
We will remember them. Lest we forget
♥️We shall remember them♥️
The most respectful thing we can do for them is stop our government turning our country into open prison in the name of climate change which is being caused by the government weather modification. Stop their gaslighting.
Thank You Anzac's ❤ I'm soooo Thankful you All Stood Upright For This Country Australia And It's People 😊
They had hearts of a lion 🦁 ♥
Thank you 'all' who fought for us and this great country of ours Lest We Forget
Lest we forget, For the Price of Freedom, Is Eternal Vigilance.
Pity that the government of today doesn't care and will keep taking. If the politicians cared enough they all would give 1 week of their income to the veterans as a gesture of thanks I'll put money on it that they all would not do it as they are all greedy initialled grubs . And after they are sacked from their job there should not be a separate superannuation fund as that's discrimination at it's best against all tax payer's and I say TAX payer's not people who receive their wage from tax revenue as you are a expense in business terms. A cost a liability that's a expense. It's nilly time for a nuther eureka and remove all of the government agencies and return the people the power of free choice not controlled choice.
Gave there lives. For our supreme leader pigsy. To rule. And Our freedoms taken from Us. My father served. 35 years . And regrets all he had to kill. In the name of freedom. Not.
Lest we forget 😔
Thank you for all your sacrifices to make this country free Lest we forget
We will remember them 🕊♥️
Lest we forget the Battle of Brisbane. There were thousands of American service men send to and based in Brisbane WW2. Of the Americans the Australian service men said “They are over here over sexed and over paid”. Meanwhile the Australian's got send to Asia not the Americans. A famous riot broke out in Brisbane between the Americans and the Australians.
♥️ Lest We Forget ♥️
