You’re a good man Senator Malcolm Roberts. I’m a TPI veteran after 20 years service in SASR & another twelve years Army Reserves. My body is broken, I suffer complex PTSD, it affects my life every day. I had to fight for ten years to get any help, help for permanent injuries caused by the military I served in. I curse politicians & senior military officers who sit in there offices, never going out into the bush for ten days, carrying a heavy pack scrub bashing. If I had my life again, no way I would join the ADF I would say to all potential recruits - Don’t do it, they will use you up, spit you out & you will have to fight for everything you should be entitled to. Just simply don’t join up, down the road you will get destroyed!

The ADF personnel need proper care when they return from active duty in particular. They join to serve the people and the country, yet are treated like nobody's. Well said Senator Malcolm Roberts and good on you for bringing this up. The ADF could’ve had me decades ago, as early as 18 years old, but even with my high level of intelligence, all I was offered was a “logistic specialist” aka store-man. I tried when I was 18 and wanted to be on subs. No women allowed on subs! I tried again in my mid 30’s by doing the aptitude test online around midnight and scored extremely high with just about any position available to me. At 7am that morning I received a phone call from the ADF because of my score. After finding out I was female, all I got offered was “logistic specialist”. Because someone with a high IQ really wants to be bored to death in a storeroom! 🙄

If you can run a war from an air conditioned office a million miles from the coal face and then comeback and persecute them but not the commanders you have lost any respect from your soldiers and created a situation we’re no one would join the ADF

When the govt is charging $1.52 tax per cigarette ,there is ya problem. Govt greed... If they dropped the huge tax to an acceptable amount the govt kill 2 birds with one stone... 1) they stop the illegal Tabbaco sales. 2) they cut off the $$ funding the criminal activities... Its not rocket science... The govt have created their own problem.

When the yamanto store was open , police in uniforms, army personnel in uniforms, corrections officers in uniforms, would go in and come out with bags of smoke , so it's the the people on government wages that are going for the cheap smoking products as well , tax is so out of control everyone is going to go cheap .

At the age of 78 and having been in this wonderful country for 31 years, retired for 11 years, I respond to many social media topics, mainly because the controlled media doesn't make space for the man in the street.. You Rainbow people can get off my face right now. The recent and ongoing topic of " is the geriatric pension enough?" ...I enjoy my cigarettes and a couple of cheap (but good) Aussie wines per day. Say goodbye to $ 45 per day. Not to the manufacturers...but a fantastic 86% of this back into government funds spent on luck knows what while they give themselves pay rises...said enough..not enough.
