Owner driver here and the answer to your question is yes, I even had a driver come across to my side of the road where I had to swerve and hit the gravel shoulder to avoid him, it wasn’t until I got on the radio and said hey could you keep it on your side of the road mate and he replied with Fuck you dick head in an Indian or very similar accent 🤷‍♂️ l swear he done it on purpose after his reply, as l say l was none the wiser of the ethnicity of the driver until he replied on the radio. Besides that there are absolutely astonishing amounts of near misses we have whilst doing oversize loads, they are either on a different uhf channel, on the phone, listening to music, cannot understand English or don’t realise they need to back off and move over for us to pass safely! It is beyond ridiculous. I also emailed you the story of the incident which happened up around Goulburn on the Hume somewhere a while back which has obviously been covered up or not investigated properly, that driver was warned numerous times he had no lights on every truck in the vicinity heard it all over the UHF, rumour has it he knew that truck was coming behind him and had is lights off on purpose due to a disagreement at a service station or parking bay somewhere just prior to the incident, he waited around a bend for old mate to run up his backdoor!!! The other thing is life insurance!! We basically cannot get it anymore because truck driving is classed as one of if not the most dangerous occupation in Australia!! I wonder why!!

It places to much emphasis on degrees over trades. Trades have more experience and are much more deeply skilled in broader areas.
