Are these batteries like the ones used in Labor’s Waratah super battery been installed at the sth end of Lake Macquarie in the middle of native bushland with housing estates nearby.. NSW Gov says it will be one of largest battery storage systems in the world… and I’m not aware of any residential consultation that took place??

Battery fires are still very rare, despite the sensationalist headlines like this one, and any chance of them happening will become a thing of the past soon, when the industry moves to solid state batteries that cannot experience thermal runaway like regular lithium batteries can.
