Meet Malcolm
With a strong background in engineering, mining and business leadership, Malcolm brings a real world perspective to Parliament that the ranks of major party lawyers and former union bosses miss.
He has led the operational development of Australia’s largest and most complex underground coal project, setting many new industry firsts.
After being disqualified along with 14 others from sitting in Parliament in the 2017-18 eligibility crisis, Malcolm campaigned for election again in 2019 where he was successful with a huge increase in vote.

I seemed to upset my colleagues when I questioned why the Australian Research Council is spending close to a billion dollars a year on grants that taxpayers would struggle to see any value in.
ARC leadership repeatedly hid behind "peer review processes", refusing to justify cost-benefit while signing off on a $889,275 grant for an Arab/Muslim Australian social movements study, and another $322,213 grant that produced a commercial sold book Coming of Age in War on Terror.
While I respect independent review processes, the real issue is being ignored.
How is this supposedly “world-class system” allowing taxpayer money to be poured into niche ideological research with no demonstrated benefit to the people footing the bill?
The problem isn’t that research exists – it’s why taxpayers are being forced to fund it.

How can I apply for one of these grants, I would be set, I could do an independent study on an Australian movement study, hell I’ll even chuck in the word Muslim to get it across the line. Let me know how I do this. Sick of struggling when I can join the fraud squad going by the name of Australian Government.

The small print: This is an interesting standard. Should we apply it consistently? Australia will spend about $63.4 billion on Defence this financial year. Can every taxpayer identify the tangible benefit they receive from every individual Defence project? Probably not. Nor would we expect them to. In fact, the ANAO recently found that $693 million had already been spent on design-related work for the Collins-class submarine life-extension project while Defence was still not well placed to demonstrate that the project represented value for money. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t fund submarines. It means public expenditure isn’t judged by asking whether every taxpayer can personally see an immediate return from every dollar. Research works the same way. The ARC funds basic research precisely because its eventual economic, social or cultural benefit cannot necessarily be known before the research is done. By all means scrutinise whether the ARC’s processes allocate money appropriately. It’s public money and scrutiny is warranted. But “I can’t see what taxpayers get from studying this” isn’t a cost-benefit analysis. It’s an opinion about which subjects are worth studying.

They are demanding that government do a better job and stop wasting money.
Specific demands to restore Australia - taxes, migration, regulation - have been laid out in the public forum. Public demand is not a mystery to solve. It’s a list titled, ‘Fix these things!’ handed to politicians.
The Labor-Liberal uniparty are simply not listening.
Or if they are listening, they are choosing to ignore the public.
