Simple physics tells us that swapping the most dense form of creating energy for the least dense form of creating energy must be totally inefficient in every way including economically and environmentally.

The CSIRO chart actually shows the exact opposite of the tweet's claim. While achieving deeper emission cuts increases overall grid integration costs across the board, a system built on mature renewables remains the most cost-effective way to get there compared to introducing CCS or nuclear power.

Let me sum this up for you. CSIRO/AEMO models the grid for planning, Morrison models the grid for argumentation.

CSIRO’s official modelling does not present a coal‑and‑gas‑heavy pathway as cheaper. The $124/MWh figure comes from a political interpretation, not from CSIRO’s own system modelling. CSIRO’s formal conclusion remains that renewables + storage are the lowest-cost pathway.

Eraring power station in NSW burns around 6 million tonnes of coal per year at the current price of $194AUD per tonne. That is $1.164 bil. per year + maintenance etc.. We would need at least 5 Erarings to power NSW. But wait, we need to build the 5 CFPSs first (min $6 bil each + 8 years), and then the price of coal might be double by then. Mean time we could use candles or maybe we could throw together some solar panels and turbines to get us through. Cost of sunshine and wind between now and 2050 = $0.

This is a totally political statement. Muslims generally have no issue with people following any religion. We respect everyone’s right to live according to their beliefs. Speaking the truth has nothing to do with Islamophobia, it has everything to do with a wake up call .

As a Muslim, I have no problem with how others choose to live. Every religion has its own beliefs and boundaries choosing not to do something is not the same as wanting to stop others from doing it. I respect everyone’s freedom under the law and expect the same respect for my freedom to practise Islam. If I choose not to do something because my religion prohibits it, you say Islam has a problem with it. But if you choose to do it, I have no problem with you.
