The fact that the complaints did not come from patients tells me everything I need to know. I’m not for gender ideology, but we still need to have these conversations for the very small minority that may receive warranted care.

I get the protecting vulnerable cohort thing, I really do, however at the same time this negates the ability to heed advice or helpful warnings etc, for example a doctor making public that transgender men may need to check for ovarian cancer or pap smears and transgender woman may need in many cases to check for testicular cancer...etc etc There's an whole world of difference between hate speech and biological fact and critical but valid opinions and view points.

This is totally out of control.

AHPRA repeatedly oversteps their authority. Because of their interventions to 'keep the public safe', we now have a shortage of nurses, doctors and other health professionals, requiring Australia to import overseas trained professionals. A hidden downside I don't see discussed much is how our reliance on overseas trained professionals drains the country of origin of those professionals, leaving that country in serious lack. Someone I know was 'investigated', and even though the claims brought against the individual were not substantiated, the Board told this person to deregister themselves or they would instigate a complaint to Medicare for investigation. Medicare use similar tactics, and in addition, if a complaint is made to Medicare, insurance doesn't cover them. This person had to deregister as they couldn't afford the ongoing legal and emotional costs. AHPRA told this individual they could not use their qualifications to register in anything else like their original qualification either, effectively locking them out of the health profession.
