The Urannah Dam project was cancelled by the Albanese Labor government in 2022. I wanted to see the final business case and environmental impact study (EIS) to see what they are hiding.
The Commonwealth threw $22.65 million into the business case and approvals, then Bowen River Utilities withdrew the scheme from Queensland's environmental assessment processes in December 2022.
When I asked why it was withdrawn, where the final business case is, and where the EIS is, the department agreed to provide it on notice. They claimed that because of "Commonwealth-state relations," the ownership of these taxpayer-funded documents rests with the state, though they "encourage" publication. I’ve requested copies if they have access to them.
I asked if the bureaucrats are looking at the bigger picture regarding future water demand in the Burdekin Basin.
There is massive potential in the Great Australian Infrastructure Project, which would see a major steel mill established at Collinsville, along with other mills in Central Queensland. These visionary projects will have a massive appetite for water.
The department representative admitted he only knows about these vital industrial opportunities from reading the newspapers. They did note they are partnering with Queensland on a broader "Burdekin Regional Water Assessment" to look at basin-wide supply and demand, however it’s clear they are disconnected from real-world economic development.
Whether it’s Paradise Dam or Urannah Dam, we are seeing the same pattern: endless assessments, massive cost escalations, secret reports and a total lack of urgency from state and federal governments to actually build the water infrastructure Australia.

Off-set carbon emissions. Use our oil, coal and gas responsibly and offset the carbon output by establishing massive crops of vegetation. Relatively cheap to set up a small scale model, using waste water from a nearby outback town population. Net zero made easy. Pipe harvested rainwater and treated effluents to flat, arid regions of outback. Install delivery piping adjacent to existing rail corridors, providing ease of access to construct and maintain. * Extract toxins and other elements, and recycle them through series of natural processes. Deliver irrigation water to a central circular lake, for exposure to sun, air and natural evapo-transpiration process, populate a surface growth covering the central lake with say, water hyacinth. Central lake spills irrigation water over, entire perimeter, dropping about say, 50mm, over a level edge (like a fountain cascading) around its entire cicumference, into multiple surroundings circular motes each likewise overflowing over a level edge to then run free over the surrounding flat terrain. As supply of water and effluent increases, then more circular motes and weirs, may be added. Read through the page (mostly in Comments) in the link below and you'll get the picture. A fair amount of research is on the FB page. Providing, sustainable perpetual irrigation for produce and jobs, export tourists, fibre, mulch, stock feed seed, nuts, fruit, berries, vegetables, bio-fuel, crocodile farming, aquaculture, pet food, etc etc * What happens at the initial recycle process? * Sewage contains a wide range of valuable minerals, including common metals like copper, iron, and zinc, and precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum. Additionally, nutrients such as phosphorus and potassium, and other industrially important metals like palladium, aluminum, and chromium are present and can be recovered through advanced treatment processes. Recovering these materials is a form of "urban mining" that offers a sustainable alternative to traditional mining and can turn wastewater treatment into a valuable resource recovery process. Sewage is a valuable resource because it contains water, energy, and nutrients that can be recovered and reused, supporting a circular economy. After treatment, this water can be used for irrigation or industrial processes, while by-products like biogas can generate energy, and nutrient-rich sludge can be converted into fertilizer. This reduces reliance on freshwater sources, lowers fertilizer costs, and can generate revenue to help cover the costs of water treatment operations. www.facebook.com/groups/DroughtproofAustralia/?ref=share_group_link
Labor can`t approve any water-storage infrasructure, because the Greens won`t allow it.
What a complete and utter waste of money.
Exactly the same outcome for Wyangala Dam, Central West NSW. Spent millions then cancelled it. 🤨
Get rid of labor greens teals..overentitled overpaid overtaxing overcontrolling deceitful lying greedy wasteful negligent traitorous incompetent commo globalist bullies..putting their evil commo globalist agenda ahead of Australians wellbeing needs and safety.

Pauline Hanson addresses the legacy mainstream media at the National Press Club for the first time. ... See MoreSee Less
She knows exactly what she is talking about. She is the only one who lets us know the truth of what is really happening.
You tell them, Pauline. One Nation is a sensible party.

Say it loud Pauline 👏 🧡🧡🧡🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺💪💪💪
Thank you Senator Malcolm Roberts for posting this. I recorded it for hubby on the tv but Pauline ran over time (good on her) and I missed everything after that. Loved her address, particularly when she spoke from the heart off-script 🧡🧡🧡
Just because Hanson is not a great speaker, she is a passionate advocate for the Australian people and Australia as a whole, she is a trustworthy person and has values that some of our politicians may not have!?
Well done Pauline
Don’t stop Pauline now! It’s taken you all thirty years to hear this !
Good on you Pauline - your time has come. Go for it!
Come on Pauline let’s do this
And the crazy thing is not all these people are what one would consider to be 'poor' there are those on what once wld have been an adequate wage to cover cost of living, is now barely cutting it.
Go for it Pauline! Great speech and articulate responses to questions.
ATTORNEY GENERAL RESPONDS TO FORMER SENATOR ROD CULLETON With the Attorney General’s response to Rod Culleton last week it appears the Government and associated entities have been acting unconstitutionally and therefore unlawfully since the Commonwealth Seal was removed in the 70s by Labor’s Gough Whitlam. Rod Culleton finally got a reply to the Freedom Of Information request written 2 months ago to the Attorney-General for legality of the removal of the Great Seal Of the Commonwealth in 1973. The Great Seal is required to make Commonwealth Law. It is the most central thing to run Government and Parliament under the Constitution. The answer came in yesterday morning. They have now admitted that they “DID NOT HAVE ANY AUTHORITY” to remove the Great Seal in 1973. That means it is ‘ILLEGAL AND DONE IN TREASON”. And every ACT since, is NOT VALID LAW, NO AUTHORITY” means there has been NO LAW ever since. The document received is the single most important thing to blow every current government and Parliament in Australia, out of the water. It is the ‘magic bullet’ that has hit them right between the eyes. Documents today have been filed with the Federal Police. The UK Government has also been put on notice.
Best Australian political speech in the past 30 years, well done Pauline!

Net Immigration 2025 was higher than 2024
Another increase thanks to PM Albanese

Why are these figures different to ABS figures?
Hey Mal, why so light on the details? A bit of context on that “net migration” chart: • “Net migration” = arrivals minus departures (not just new immigrants) • Includes students, temp workers, Kiwis, and even returning Aussies • Recent spike is heavily driven by international students (~40–50%) • Big rebound effect after COVID (borders shut → negative migration → surge after reopening) • Also inflated by backlogged visas finally being processed • Fewer people leaving post-COVID = higher net number • Permanent migrants are only a small slice (~15–20%) But hey - hate gets FB reacts.
Thank you so much Senator for posting the link to the data. The data is fascinating and as someone trained to understand data, I will shortly be able to confirm for my self, who is lying and who is providing misinformation.
It looks like Tom is also trying to pretend that something never happened…
One nation has the most Filipino employees 😂
I love it how you can make data and graphs tell the story that you want 🤣🤣🤣
You know that graph is 2023 and 2024? 2025 isn’t on the graph. Maybe a free TAFE accounting course might help you.
That chart only goes to 2023. Net migration is closing in on parity with migrant departures
Anyone who understands anything about how to read a graph can see that this is about post-pandemic correction, particularly with reference to international students.
Don't for get the 2.97m temporary visa holders in the country, they have to live somewhere
Keep up the good work. PAULINE FOR PM
Don’t let the truth get in the way of a tall tale Malcolm 🤪

Good man Senator Malcolm Roberts 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
🔥 🤥
2025 dropped lower because they shifted the focus from students to high-skilled labor to balance migration with infrastructure and housing targets .. post pandemic back log .. drop in temporary visa holders .. covid captives went back home .. but gov maintained the core level .. so a false positive .. Malcolm is right.
