"I think posting quotes hides the fact I'm a lunatic conspiracy theorist" - Malcolm Roberts
Exactly- "I don't want to know" would be their quote!

Yep. Sane here in New Zealand.

So true.
Politicians , not the sharpest tools in the shed
Action is set in the cold for at the moment
Restore Australia to what ? The 60s ? Drug free ? Crime free ? One salary family again ?

And anyone that had the power to stop them has been bought off!
We need to be unshackled from UN-WEF Net Zero mandates and to stop our self-inflicted energy crisis
The solution is to invest in the lowest cost power generation

Unfortunately Labor hasn't got that memo yet
Arrrr we make, or should I say, companies make, a huge amount of money on these export commodities.
- Snowy Mountain Hydro? -
Maybe, We need to stop giving our coal, gas and iron away for free
"existing" nuclear reactors
"world bank" don't we all live here ? so who are we borrowing this "money" from and what is it's value tied to?
Wonder if Labor will lift the ban on nuclear in Oz.
You were bagging out the new hydro not long ago, now your saying it's good
New nuclear tech needs to be implemented rapidly - it doesn't have nearly the infrastructure requirements as the 1970's tech.
Nuclear is best on most metrics
Nuclear isn’t low cost lol. If you wanted to build the most expensive type of power generator you would choose Nuclear. It literally the MOST expensive option we could go lol Also the only way a new coal power plant could be built is as a public enterprise. With the global market and lack of bipartisan support there will be little private investment in new coal generators. Plus, we are likely 10 years away from the next conservative government. We be so far down the road with renewables it would be difficult to switch.
Bowen won’t take any notice , head is in the Chinese pocket
Even the World Bank has finally woken up to the fact that wind and solar will fail to provide adequate low cost electricity.
Please what is the total cost to install a wind turbine including maintenance, from engineering design Manafacturing the parts including installation?
We have literally hundreds of years worth of coal. This morning, Albanese was boasting how Australia provides South Korea with energy. Energy that we should be utilising here.
Looks like the World Bank, (our real governing body), needs a cash injection. Up go our taxes to pay for it. Let's see what Albo has to say now they've approved it. I'm all ears.
The push for renewables is losing momentum as common sense and reality are overcoming the rush for corporate profits
Need to start using our own resources instead of sending them offshore.
What about energy from air per Tesla (the original)
The only sensible solution for Australia
I agree... nuclear is the way forwards, not the 'renewables'..
I thought Mal hated the world bank.
It's inevitable. It is the most abundant and powerful source of energy on earth.
That's why all the uranium shares went up yesterday
Yes! A referendum so Australians can vote no to any foreign corporations being funded with our taxes, no foreign influence and Australian may have a chance to survive!
China gets our coal.
China gets our jobs.
China gets our manufacturing.
China gets our cheap energy.
China gets our money.
And for what ... "green" energy?
Do you still believe that?

Net Zero = Australia's resources and cash emptied
China get Australian Iron Ore to build weapons, tanks and ships, Australia has handed everything to them. We in Australia have to pay high prices for our own resources. Then you have the rest of the world and Australia themselves say China is the biggest threat to the world, as we hand over everything no a silver plater.
We are the laughing stock of the world heading quickly to being another third world country
Politicians are selling us down the creek
For Howard's gold medal performance.
We have it all. Why are we giving it away, then costing us thousands to procure these 'luxuries'?
As long as China gets it the people winning are the Ausyralian Labor marionettes
Malcolm clearly worried there are listening devices hidden in the dim sims
Another carbon tax call it was it is
Net zero is hypocrisy, we can sell coal and gas but not use it.
Spot On.
I'm with you Malcolm keep up the great work
Gerard Rennick for Australian Leader Not Prime minister or President. ♥️
China gets our premium produce, our best beef and seafood and in return we get Chinese junk. Free trade isn't fair trade.
It is a complete joke alright
Meanwhile China builds more coal energy plants
Bring manufacturing back into Australia from China and other countries but where are the engineer’s. Most have retired or too old to work. Australian has lost years of experience in this area. Sold our Australia this government has.
Disgusting what's happened to our great country, we simply need new leadership, and l shall return to the country l Love
It’s ok..they will all meet their targets under labour..they will just be closed.
Use a lift setup, as a containers that go up and down, producing mega voltages each day, using gears. It's not rocket science
We’re not Australia anymore wee a part of china
UPDATED DRAFT CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSAL
Title: Amendment to Protect Sovereign Resource Ownership and Guarantee Free Domestic Energy During Export
Preamble:
We, the people of Australia, declare that the natural resources of this land are the collective inheritance of all Australians. In a time when energy costs are rising, and multinationals profit from exporting our resources, we affirm that the rights of Australians come first. Our Constitution must protect public ownership, energy sovereignty, and affordability.
Section X – National Resource Sovereignty and Energy Rights
Public Ownership of Resources
All natural resources of Australia—including but not limited to coal, gas, oil, uranium, water, rare earths, and solar/wind assets—are the collective property of the Australian people.
Australians Must Come First
(a) No Australian citizen shall be required to pay for electricity, gas, or domestic energy while any coal, gas, oil, uranium, or electricity is exported overseas.
(b) During any period of export, all households shall receive a minimum standard supply of electricity and heating free of charge, funded directly from resource royalties and export earnings.
Limitations on Foreign Ownership and Control
No foreign government, company, or multinational entity shall hold controlling ownership, licensing rights, or long-term leases over Australia’s critical natural resources or energy infrastructure without public approval by referendum.
Transparency and Accountability
All resource extraction and export contracts must be:
Fully public and published online in full;
Independently audited every 3 years;
Cancelled or renegotiated if they fail to serve the public benefit.
National Energy Security Guarantee
The Australian Government shall maintain national reserves of all critical resources to ensure uninterrupted domestic supply, and no export shall be permitted if it causes domestic shortage or price increases.
Citizen Resource Oversight Council
A publicly elected Citizen Resource Council shall be formed to:
Monitor all dealings involving national resources;
Review foreign ownership;
Publish public reports and hold decision-makers accountable.
Transitional Clause:
All existing contracts that violate this amendment must be renegotiated or reviewed within 12 months of this amendment coming into force.
Summary Purpose:
To guarantee Australians never pay for essential energy while our resources are exported for foreign profit. To return control of Australian resources to Australians, and ensure that our wealth is used to benefit the people—not corporations.
At the end of the day if you can buy carbon credits it’s not about the environment it’s about money
What about CO2 in fizzy drinks Coca-Cola bottling to close. All beer companies and sparking water too I guess. Dangerous for the atmosphere but fantastic to drink.
China has made massive strides in renewable energy over the past two decades—more than any other country—though it does admittedly faces big contradictions (like its continued use of coal). Of course Australia will continue to use gas despite its renewables commitments.
1. World Leader in Installed Renewable Capacity
• China has the largest installed capacity of renewables in the world, including:
• Wind power: Over 400 GW (gigawatts), more than double that of the U.S.
• Solar power: Over 600 GW as of 2025, more than one-third of the world’s total.
• Hydropower: Still the world’s largest, with over 400 GW, led by massive dams like the Three Gorges.
2. Massive Domestic Manufacturing
• China dominates the global solar supply chain, producing:
• Over 80% of the world’s solar panels.
• The majority of batteries and rare earth components used in clean energy tech.
• This gives China strategic control of global green energy production.
3. Aggressive Investment
• China invests more in renewables annually than any other country.
• In 2023 alone, it spent over US$550 billion on clean energy.
• This includes funding for infrastructure, grid upgrades, and battery storage.
4. Leading in Energy Storage
• China is rapidly expanding large-scale battery projects, critical for storing wind and solar energy.
• It’s on track to have more battery storage than the rest of the world combined by 2030.
5. Green Cities & Electric Vehicles
• China leads the world in electric vehicle (EV) adoption:
• Over 50% of global EV sales happen in China.
• The country has built millions of public charging stations.
• Urban policies in cities like Shenzhen and Beijing have replaced entire bus and taxi fleets with electric vehicles.
6. Ultra High Voltage (UHV) Transmission Lines
• China pioneered UHV power lines to send renewable electricity from inland deserts to coastal cities.
• This makes it possible to build massive solar/wind farms in remote regions and still power major population centres.
7. Still Building Coal, But…
• Yes, China is still building coal plants—but many are designed as backups to support renewable variability.
• It’s also shutting down older, dirtier coal plants and replacing them with more efficient or cleaner alternatives.
8. Global Green Energy Expansion
• Through its Belt and Road Initiative, China is exporting green tech—building solar and wind farms in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
The Big Picture
China is both the largest emitter and the largest investor in solutions to climate change. It’s a paradox: coal and clean energy coexist, but the momentum toward renewables is undeniable—and accelerating.
