Senator I have been a builder for 35 years, making good money in the industry. Everything changed in 2019 when prices were allowed to rise by 22% in some cases with no apparent reason, this to me is illegal and unethical behavior. But here we are nothing has changed in manufacturing of these goods except the government and it’s handling of this due to so Covid the biggest travesty to happen to Australia and the building industry in over 50 years . When I did my trade it took 4 year apprenticeship and then another 3 years to get your clerk of works . These days you can get a building license in under 4 years which is ridiculous. How can a 16 , 17 year old know enough in 4 years to start building house safely and to code

The only thing the government is good at is getting a sugar hit to inflate the books to show look we made money buy either selling off stuff or importing free loaders. When will the government actually get a clue and understand its not working and change course, privatisation hurts the average person.
